THIEN LONG DEVELOPS ECO-FRIENDLY PRODUCTS
Thien Long is actively researching and creating eco-friendly products for reading, writing, drawing, listening, and viewing, in line with its sustainable development strategy.
The company’s new vision is to inspire and provide “Happy Learning Life” solutions for Vietnamese people. This vision drives Thien Long to design products that excel in functionality and aesthetics, expand its product ecosystem for reading, writing, drawing, listening, and viewing, and create advantages for growth. One key step in supporting the lifelong learning journey is pursuing a sustainable development strategy and producing eco-friendly stationery.

At Thien Long, production activities are closely linked to environmental protection and sustainable growth. According to Ms. Tran Phuong Nga, CEO of Thien Long Group: “Sustainable development is the core direction of Thien Long. It brings many benefits to the business, not only in terms of finance and sales, but also in credibility and consumer trust.”
From the construction of factories to production processes, the company has focused on minimizing CO₂ emissions. The solar power systems at Thien Long’s two factories help reduce 1,326 tons of CO₂ annually. The company also operates an integrated management system in accordance with international standards, notably the SA 8000:2014 Social Accountability Management System and the ICTI social responsibility management system for the toy industry.

For its products, the Group prioritizes eco-friendliness. The new generation of Thien Long Eco-Friendly products marks a significant step toward realizing this sustainable development strategy. These products aim to protect the environment by minimizing raw material consumption, reusing waste materials, and developing environmentally friendly product lines.
Examples include products made from agricultural by-products such as rice husks, straw, and cassava starch. Notably, the company applies post-consumer recycled plastics to create new products — for instance, one recycled water bottle can be turned into two pens. Thien Long also uses composite plastics combining natural materials like limestone sourced from northern Vietnam.

To foster environmental awareness among younger generations, Thien Long implements the “For a Green School” program, which collects used pens to fund scholarships. Students creatively repurpose old pens into interesting models. Since its inception in 2019, the program has attracted 20,000 students, supported disadvantaged children, and educated youth on waste segregation into organic, recyclable, and other waste categories.

Community-oriented and social initiatives are also among Thien Long’s priorities. For example, the “Exam Season Support” program has been held 22 times to assist students ahead of university entrance exams, and the 2022 “Color Festival” was recognized by the Vietnam Record Organization as the most attended event of its kind in the country.
According to the company’s representative, these events have helped spread humanitarian values and the sustainable development strategy that Thien Long has pursued for over 40 years. The company has also earned multiple awards, including:
