MINISTRY OF EDUCATION MEETS WITH 80 OUTSTANDING TEACHE

Date : 24-11-2025

On November 13, The Ministry of Education and Training met with 80 exemplary teachers who have overcome hardships and made significant contributions to education in remote, mountainous and border areas.

The event is part of the annual “Sharing with Teachers” program, jointly organized since 2015 by the Vietnam Youth Federation, the Ministry of Education and Training, and Thien Long Group.

At the gathering, Deputy Minister Le Quan underscored that while policies, facilities and technology have improved, teachers remain the decisive factor in the quality of education. Among this year’s honorees, 36 are from ethnic minority groups and many are officers of the border guard forces. He noted that education in remote and highland areas goes beyond “teaching literacy”; it is also tied to improving livelihoods, creating job opportunities, reducing poverty sustainably and addressing local socio-economic challenges. He expressed hope that the teachers would continue their commitment to the sector.

After 11 years of implementation, “Sharing with Teachers” has honored more than 650 outstanding educators across various regions, many of whom have overcome extreme difficulties to bring knowledge to remote, border and island communities.

This year marks the program’s largest edition, with 201 nominations from 248 border communes following recent administrative restructuring. From these nominations, 80 teachers were selected to travel to Hanoi for the commendation ceremony. They serve in border communes, satellite schools in remote villages, and in collaboration with border guard units on literacy campaigns for young people and local residents. All have demonstrated dedication and perseverance, earning deep respect from their communities.

He expressed confidence that the program would continue to inspire educators in their work.

The gratitude activities under “Sharing with Teachers 2025” aim to support education in ethnic minority, mountainous, border and island regions. The program also conducts practical projects such as building and renovating classrooms, libraries and restrooms; awarding scholarships; providing learning materials; and implementing the “Listening – Sharing” initiative to expand learning opportunities for teachers and students in disadvantaged areas. These activities are amplified on social media with the support of TikTok Vietnam and program ambassadors including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thanh Nam, Miss Vietnam Luong Thuy Linh and TikToker Le Bong.

During the meeting, many teachers shared their experiences and recommendations based on real teaching challenges, reflecting the needs of educators across regions. For example, Vuong Thi Dinh of Dong Van Boarding School for Ethnic Minority Secondary and High School Students (Tuyen Quang Province) expressed concerns about bringing STEM education to highland areas.
