"For the green school": turning rubbish into a scholarship, jointly helping friends to school

For the purpose of awarding scholarships for elementary and junior high school pupils whose excellent academic achievement but have difficult circumstances, through sorting recycling plastic waste, the program "For the green school" jointly organized by National Council for Ho Chi Minh Youth Union and School Supplies (Diem 10 brand name) under Thien Long Group Corporation has been implemented in many secondary and junior high schools in Hanoi.

Educate the awareness of protecting the living environment

The program aims to educate pupils about environmental protection, creating habits of throwing waste in the right places; provide knowledge to sort organic waste and recyclable waste and other types of waste right at the source as well as raising the awareness of caring and sharing with the community in effective waste disposal in the locality.

At the same time, School Supplies (Diem 10 brand name) and Thien Long Group Corporation, the agencies also hope that through this program, pupils will promote the spirit of love and help, practice lessons on solidarity and help friends to pursue their studies.  Because, the "For the green school" scholarship is built based on the amount of money converted from used Thien Long products used to be contributes by pupils to "Young Shoots Project".

Talk more about "Young Shoots Project", which is a special model, acts as a place for pupils to sort recycled plastic waste right at the source.  This model is designed like a lively small house, consisting of two separate compartments including: a compartment for recycling plastic waste, such as: Plastic bags, plastic boxes, milk boxes, etc. and a compartment for used Thien Long products.

Specifically, the products that pupils donate which Thien Long Group Corporation invites artisans to create art models and award back to the schools. This is not only a memorable milestone "For the green school" but also as a reminder for pupils to continue sorting garbage, continuing spreading the message of protecting the environment to their families and the people around.

Talk about the problem against plastic waste,   Mr. Trinh Van Hao - Marketing Director of Thien Long Group Corporation said: “Therefore, through the program, pupils will understand the difference between organic waste, recycled waste and other types of waste. We hope that when the future generation of the country is fully equipped with basic knowledge about garbage and waste sorting, the fight against climate change of all humanity will be developed in a more positive way”.

The two ambassadors accompanied the program in the first season are “Vietnamese boy giving flowers to head of state" named Nguyen Nhu Khoi và Assoc.Prof. PhD. Nguyen Thi Minh Thai –  who is known for both being a university lecturer and a Ph.D. in arts, as well as having many years of experience in journalism, theatre theory and criticism, literature and art.

To sow "Seeds of hope" into future generations

“I would like to thank the Organizing Committee for bringing us a very meaningful program, through this program, we can protect the environment with practical and concrete daily actions, and collect waste, create into scholarships for pupils with difficult circumstances and build a safe, healthy living environment for everyone.”  - Nguyen Ha Anh, Class 5A6, Phuong Liet Secondary School, Thanh Xuan District expressed spirit of response to the program.

According to the plan, the Organizing Committee has carried out propaganda and awarded the " Young Shoots Project" model to the next 9 schools, specially: Phu Luong Secondary School - Ha Dong District, Trung Vuong Secondary School - Hoan Kiem District, Dai Thinh Secondary School - Me Linh District, Tien Thang Secondary School - Me Linh District, Kim Hoa Secondary School - Me Linh District, Me Linh Secondary School - Me Linh district, Doan Thi Diem Secondary School - Nam Tu Liem district, Thang Long Secondary School - Ba Dinh district, Nguyen Tri Phuong Secondary School - Ba Dinh district. 

At each school that the organizers of “For the green school” visit, pupils and teachers responded extremely enthusiastically and dynamically. Pupils have participated enthusiastically in every game and every activities organized by the Organizing Committee, at the same time, pupils also quickly acquired knowledge about natural waste sorting, are also aware of the importance of environmental protection and natural ecosystem protection; then at the end of the program, the most profound thing left in hearts of pupils and the organizers must be the green image: the green of positive community consciousness, the green of solidarity, love and help of hearts and the green of memories of the program.
